FARM TO TABLE Workshops
Farmbelly workshops take place at our 10-acre vegetable farm, located 15-minutes west of Carrboro and 5 minutes from Saxapahaw. Classes are hands-on and take place outside, hopping between the garden and our covered workshop space. Max 10 people per class to ensure an intimate and fun experience! Home Gardening 101
DATE: Saturday, March 29th @ 2pm - 4:30pm

This is a perfect workshop for beginning gardeners, no matter how small (or big) your growing space may be! This is a foundational class for beginning gardeners – whether you plan to grow in containers/pots, raised beds, or in a larger space directly in the ground. The first portion of the workshop will be a seated overview of helpful garden topics, then the majority of our time will be spent outside on the farm, with hands-on opportunities to explore different garden designs and practice seeding, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting. Each person will also go home with a small tray of veggie seedlings that we will start together.

This class is foundational for anyone looking to sharpen up their knife skills and learn more about growing, sourcing, preparing, and cooking with seasonal and local produce. In this fun hands-on workshop, we’ll go on a farm tour, everyone will help harvest veggies from the garden, and then we’ll make several vibrant spring dishes that we will sit down and enjoy together.
GROWING & COOKING WITH HERBS

This class will answer ALL of your questions about growing, harvesting, storing, prepping, and cooking with herbs! In this hands-on workshop, everyone will get their own potted herb to grow at home, and you’ll help harvest fragrant herbs that we will use throughout the workshop. The workshop also includes a full walking tour of our farm, a hands-on knife skills lesson, and together we will make and enjoy several delicious herb-filled dishes, which we will sit down and enjoy together.
KNIFE SKILLS 101
DATE: Saturday, May 31st @ 4pm - 6:30pm

The key to confidence in the kitchen starts with mastering basic knife skills. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn about selecting and sharpening your knives, as well as the basics of chopping, dicing and mincing – all while whipping up several delicious, farm fresh dishes! The class will begin with a farm tour, then you’ll help harvest veggies + herbs that we’ll use to practice our knife skills. We will dice, slice and chiffonade our way through a variety of produce and transform them into a few seasonal dishes, which we will sit down to enjoy together at the end of the workshop.
